Pigment changes can be caused after too much sunbathing, certain medications, cosmetics and perfume or after infections or injuries to the skin.
For example, freckles, age spots and moles belong to the main group of skin pigmentations. It is not always evident to laymen whether changed pigmentation is benign or malignant. A visit to the doctor is therefore always recommendable.
Our practice has highly modern equipment to remove benign skin lesions. A prerequisite is making a careful diagnosis with incidental light microscopy or biopsy, in order to exclude a precursor stage of skin cancer.
